Who We Are

The Palucca University of Dance Dresden has a History going back many years and, today, it is Germany’s only independent university for dance. The University has an integrated secondary school and thus the youngest pupils in Germany. Currently, there are about 200 pupils and students registered at Palucca University of Dance Dresden, two-thirds of which are female and one third are male. The students come from over 30 countries throughout the world, including Italy, Japan, Brazil and Canada, and also Chile, Peru and Bulgaria.

In accordance with our Mission, individual supervision and personal support are at the heart of our educational programme. The University’s Study Programmes comprise the BA Dance Programme, the MA Dance Programme, and also the MA Programmes Dance Teacher and Choreography. The Apprentice Programme, a certificate course, and the Artistic Master Class Programme complete our educational offer.

The University has international academic and artistic staff and also renowned guest choreographers. A world-wide network of partnerships guarantees excellent study conditions. Resembling a park, our Campus offers state-of-the-art facilities including 11 dance studios, an auditorium and event hall, the Palucca Dormitory, an archive and library, a health centre, a secondary school and our administration building.
