Profile

Are you looking for opportunities to further develop your skills in choreography? Do you feel inspired by an interdisciplinary environment?

The Palucca University of Dance Dresden, with its two-year MA Choreography Programme, offers you the possibility to further develop your creative skills with precisely the right tools. Theoretical and practical knowledge are combined in an interconnected course structure that offers diverse chances to expand your own individual language as a choreographer. A flexible module system makes studying easier, promotes residences and supports the maintenance of your professional network. With focus on an exchange with other art forms and creative educational institutions in Dresden, Saxony and beyond, you will experience new distinct and individual inspirations. We are open to choreographers who experiment with different styles and dance techniques and who want to strengthen these through specific perspectives and approaches. The subject spectrum stretches from new media, architecture and stage technology to psychology as well as to management with the expertise of internal professors and international guest lecturers, among others, I?aki Azpillaga, Monica Buckland, Prof. Katharina Christl, Prof. Dr. Jenny Coogan, Dr. Anja Centeno Garcia, Gesine Geister, Prof. Dr. Henning Haupt, Dr. Thom Hecht, Prof. Steve Jakobs, Ulf Langheinrich, Ted Meier, Prof. Katrin Michel, Sascha Mock, Luisa Sancho Escanero, André Schallenberg, Héctor Solari and many more.

The opportunity to be able to shape the artistic process with the approximately 150 students training to become dancers at the Palucca University of Dance Dresden is a unique one. These students are being successfully trained in not only ballet, but also in contemporary dance and improvisation. The interconnection of the study programmes Choreography, Dance Teacher, and Dance is an important element of the University’s profile.
