Code of Conduct
At the Palucca University of Dance Dresden the health and well-being of all children, students, employees and guests is always the centre of attention.
Our University is intercultural, diverse and inclusive. We create a work atmosphere that is friendly, constructive and conducive to creativity. The communication is dialogue-orientated. Our work processes are based on the participation of everyone.
We behave ethically and treat each other with respect regardless of status, age, ethnicity, physical and mental characteristics, sexual orientation and gender identity, socio-economic status, religious beliefs, nationality and world views.
We actively take responsibility for ourselves and our community and contribute to ensuring the comprehensive general education and healthy development of children and students in their dance training.
The foundation of our successful cooperation and our work together includes:
- clear and factual communication (clarification of technical terms, description of situations, first-person messages) and consideration of language barriers
- We remain respectful of the person, even in a conflict situation
- equal treatment for everyone
- Regular feedback
- Consent-based, respectful behavior during physical contact
- Knowledge and implementation of the relevant laws and regulations of the university and secondary school. (see links and attachment)
The following are unacceptable:
- Physical harm (hitting, kicking, spitting, touching without consent)
- Psychosocial harm (body shaming, derogatory comments, ridiculing, ignoring, insulting, defaming, slandering, trivializing, shouting at, discriminating, using photos and videos without consensus, ostracizing)
- Damage to property (theft or destruction)
If anyone needs to raise a concern about an incident that is not in line with our Code of Conduct, they may contact a named person of trust, or the trust team** This person of trust, or team of trust, will help find suitable support to clarify the matter.
