Filesharing with GigaMove 2.0
Target Group: Students and Staff
The application GigaMove 2.0, operated by RWTH Aachen, is a service for transferring large files and offers a convenient alternative to sending email attachments. Students and staff can use this service. For data protection reasons, the use of comparable commercial services such as WeTransfer is discouraged.
Please note that GigaMove is intended exclusively for data exchange. Uploaded files are automatically scanned with an up-to-date virus scanner and deleted after 14 days (with the option to extend). Files up to 100 GB can be exchanged in both directions. Each user at Palucca University has a total of 1 TB of storage space available on this system. Uploaded files can also be password protected.

Provide File
If you want to grant someone access to a large file, please choose the "Provide File" option. You can then upload a file to the system and receive a link that you can send to your partner via email. Your partner can download the file using the link contained in the email. As an additional option, you can protect the download with a password, which you must also share with your partner.
Request File
If your partner wants to send you a large file, please choose the "Request File" option. You will then receive a link that you can send to your partner via email. When they open this link, they will see a simple form to upload their file for you. After uploading, GigaMove will notify you by email that a file has been made available for you.
Manage Files
Here you will find an overview of the files you have provided and requested. You can directly send emails with download links from this overview, set a new expiration date, or edit the download password.
